 | Notepad Replacement Currently at my job I have to keep a lot of notes. I need a lightweight text editor that can do the following
A. Add time stamp with one button press B. read line feed characters.
Notepad has been working fine but not that I have to copy from another program it just adds the boxes instead of going to the next line. Seems simple enough but I have not been able to find a program that can do them both yet. |

 | WordPad doesn't have a quick way to add the time stamp. You have to go through some menus.
I have tried Notepad++ but I can't find a quick way to get a time stamp on there either. I guest i'll try editpad. |

(hasn't been updated in awhile but there's not much else it needs)
Ctrl-D for date & Ctrl-T for time insertion, both of which you can format just about any way you prefer.

Make sure the TextFX plug-in is loaded. With that, go to the menu and select TextFX -> TextFX Insert -> Date & Time - short format. If this is something common you want to do, you can assign it to a shortcut key.
Hope this helps, DiskDrive |

| reply to TechNinja You need it to be quicker than this?
EDIT: Oh I see what you're saying. Just a single click insertion without options. |

 | reply to DiskDrive Thanks. I finally figured out how to load that plugin and hotkey it. |
