Re: [Rant] US Bank processed my payment late Decided to call customer service. The polite CSR stated she read my correspondence, then put me on hold, when she came back she apologized for the hassle and stated that a correction 1098 will be printed. Seems like I won. 
Cheers to US Bank Home Mortgage Servicing customer services, but boo to US Bank Home Mortgage Servicing payment processing. The amount of time US bank employees spent on the phone with me and responding to my correspondence cost them way more $ than they would make off one days interest on my piddly mortgage. I understand the posters' points who stated it was my fault for cutting the payment so close, there was probably ambiguity in my narrative.
The mystery of why their website does not provide the option of future dated payments is solved in my mind - posting electronic payments the day after the sending banks' delivery date adds up big time when servicing thousands of accounts and is illegal, which is why they caved. If I sued it would be hard to prove "damages" given that my tax benefit would have been deferred, not lost. |
