[DIRECTV] New guide screwed things up

So I got the new HD guide last night. This morning when I go to look at the guide I get a message saying my TV or cables are not HD and it forces me to switch my receiver to standard. This happens on Both of my HD receivers on 2 different TVs. Both TVs ARE HD and on one of them I am using an HDMI cable.
I can set the receivers back to HD settings but it pops up that message again and won't go away until I set it back to non HD.
WTF Directv?
Everything was working just fine before the new guide.

What models are your receivers? You said one of your receivers is over HMDI... how is the other hooked up? Is it possible that you have multiple outputs hooked up on the HD boxes? (i.e. Composite as well as HDMI)

The new software does not support SD- output from a HD receiver-That's why you get the message.

You will need to add one of these :

upgrade your second TV to HD or Add a SD receiver to the TV.

That is not a problem of the software it is the way they (D*) made it work. Solution is to find a H20 and feed your SD tv's off of it as that receiver will not get the new software.

I have a H20 and it outputs to my 4 other HD (pip) and a couple of sd tv's in other rooms controlled by a rf remote.

After finding multiple posts on the DirecTV.com forums it appears that since I do have a TV and DVD recorder on one receiver and 2 TVs on the other that I will simply not be able to watch HD channels. That is pure Bulls*it!
It was working perfectly fine before DirecTV 'upgraded' the software. IF IT'S NOT BROKE, DON'T FIX IT!

Time marches forward - what is a problem for the moment is no longer a problem in the future.

Receivers going forward will not have Both outputs - Example H25 , a new standard ruv enabled TV's (samsung) won't even require receivers.

Exactly The HD Guide Update has been know and coming for months. It is the progress of the Set Top. Everyone is moving to it

But no mention was ever made that it was going to cause these issues. DirecTV made it sound like the best thing since sliced bread.

It most certainly does support SD output from a HD receiver (and HD channels). At least on the HR24's....

But not simultaneous HD and SD output, it's either HD or SD.

Sorry, since the subject from the op was dual output - I omitted the word both from my replay as I thought it was understood.

Well on my main TV in the living room (the one with the DVD recorder connected to it) I did an experiment last night. I disconnected the DVD from the Receiver and viola, I can watch in HD. So basically thanks to DirecTV's 'upgrade' if I want to record something to my DVD or even watch a DVD I have to connect the cables back up. What a PITA.

We are going to see a lot more of these too... The HD UI is slated to rollout to commercial accounts mid-February and all these bars and offices that have a couple HD receivers mirrored to multiple TV's (mirrored over secondary RCA, RF Modulators, and Coax) will see this exact same issue... And there is no good way for us to fix it, aside setting the resolution to 480i and informing the customer they need to spring for an after-market HD distribution system in order to continue doing what they have been doing for years...
