Yup you are right my friend!!!
I WONDER WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF THESE COMPANIES ALL OF A SUDDEN STARTED DROPPING THIS CRAP INSTEAD OF RAISING PRICES TO COMPENSATE?? |

Re: [DIRECTV] My letter to DirecTV Dear Netview,
As you have requested a pay increase this year, I'm replying to inform you that I will be cancelling some hours with you to reflect the total of the wage increases. As you may or many not be aware, the economy is in the shitter and I have simply NOT budgeted your now yearly union style wage increases.
As you continue to request raises though the next few years I will continue to downgrade your hours. As a result I am certain your services will eventually be outsourced to India which will be a close to free as possible.
Signed,
Your boss. |

As you have requested a pay increase this year ... I'm retired, disabled and on a fixed income. I'm on Social Security and a small pension ... I haven't had a raise in years. |

Can you believe they say the cost-of-living has not gone up?! Then again, the gov't doesn't include energy or food prices in the calculations - you know - the things you need to LIVE on?!!!!!! -- Certified Jenius! |

 | reply to newview "fixed income" Oh good grief.
My pay check is the same every two weeks, so I am too on a fixed income. |

You should know this. Yes I DO know this. The gov't needs to know this too! If these things that "cost to live" go up, then the cost to live goes up - therefore the COL needs to reflect that.
It is idiotic that these are excluded. If they go up, COL goes up - if they go down, COL goes down. Simple, except for the gov't.
BTW, I would not say they are fluctuating wildly.. they have steadily climbed rapidly for the past 3-4 years. -- Certified Jenius! |

My use of the word was calculated to shock ... and perhaps WITH that shock, to drive home how serious the issue was to me and will be in the future. I would not use the word in a resume, or in other formal letters, but I feel in a complaint letter it does exactly what it's use was designed to do. |

No not simple because if the COL went down and the government then tried to lowwer the amount of things like SS checks and minimum wage which are based on COL then there would be outrage.
People bitch "I didn't get a raise and COL went up". If they got a COL raise but then also got a decrease when COL went down they'd scream bloody murder. People expect the COL increase but they don't want the other side of that coin. |
