 | Email verification problem So I signed up for service with dsl extreme last Friday. A few days later I got a notificAtion from them saying I needed to call them and give them a stand alone number. I have no idea what it is, so I called them Tuesday night and explained to the guy that I didn't know it do he said they would provide me with a number. But that notice about having to give them the number is still appearing on my account. But then Later that night I got an email from Verizon with a link that I need to go to to verify my email address. So I click on the link and it brings me to Verizon's website and asks me to put in my zip code. I put the zip code and it brings me to a page saying "we are unable to process your request at this time. Please try again later. We apologize for any inconvenience." I've been trying for a few days now and it's still not working. And the dsl extreme website says my order is still pending. Help! |

Those are available in Verizon service areas. The standalone line still has a telephone number assigned to it, but it's a 'fake' number; you can't dial out on it, nor receive calls. Nevertheless, it's important for the standalone line to have a telephone number, so that all of the associated systems that manage telephone lines can uniquely identify it. For example, when we provide DSL service, our system records which telephone number it's being provided on - even if it's a standalone line. Usually, the standalone number gets assigned to you automatically (it's not something you select).
I'm not sure what's going on with that Verizon verification email you're talking about, however.
IM me your info and we'll help figure out exactly what's going on here. |
