Tim618 join:2003-10-14 Garrettsville, OH | I have had on-going issues with windstream for almost 2 and a half years. While I currently receive a credit on my bill, once it stops I will be looking for an alternative. 47.99 for 3 MBPS? How can this be justified? My buddy a town over gets 2.0 mbps through att for 21.99 a month. unbelievable... keep up the great work windstream.... |

 | reply to IowaMan Having been spoiled with 10+ mb for years at home and well more than at work. I don't know how I could ever survive on 3. |

Windstream strives to offer competitive service at competitive prices. That being said this is primarily a technical forum. Billing, pricing, and bundling issues can be resolved by our trained Customer Service and billing agents at the Windstream Facebook page as well as the Windstream Twitter feed (@windstream).

 | Not cool.
I know the 3Mbs rate was $39, but what was the old 6Mbs rate, $44?
With only a $2 difference now, it seems like they're pushing the 6Mbs service for those that can get it.
For me, the 3Mbs has been fine so far, even for streaming although I don't do much of that yet. |

I have been censored on BBR many dozens of times. Not so much in the Windstream forum, but if you go on some of the other forums the mods have a very quick hook over the stupidest things. Especially shocking for a site whose front page is littered with Net Neutrality articles so often. -- user formerly known as 'bsc' |

 | reply to IowaMan Windstream sold me, and has been charging me for the 3mbs package for over 1 1/2 years. The absolute best speeds I can get are barely over 1Mbs. After trying to fix my problem for months, Windstream finally just told me that I wasn't able to get the 3Mbs package and I was put on the 1.5Mbs package. I called customer service to get my bill adjusted and they told me that there is no 1.5mbs package and I have to pay for the 3mbs package that I signed up for. Windstream knew from the day they called and offfered me the package that they were not able to deliver it. They are still trying to sell my neighbors a 3Mbs package, knowing full well that they are not capable of delivering what they are selling. They get away with this because they operate in rural locations with no competition. You have no other options, and in many cases, people go to great trouble to drop their satellite internet on the promises that Windstream makes, only to find out that they were lied to and Windstream is incapable of even providing the promised service.
There should be some recourse for consumers against fraud like this. If anyone knows of any class action law suits pending against this company, please post the info so the affected people can get some help. |

Re: Windstream Price Increase I don't know if I'm locked in at $39 or not. I guess I'll find out in the next day or so when the new bill posts.
If I'm not locked in and my bill goes up, with only a $2 difference between 3 and 6, I might possibly decide to upgrade.
Are there any other fees or changes required to do so? Is it just a settings change at WS or does it require field work? |

WindstreamPremium,VIP join:2009-03-31 Twinsburg, OH kudos:33 | Typically all that needs to be done is have the Business Office process a speed/billing change. This usually only take 2-3 business days to go through, then you will be up and running at the new speeds.
