I have a replacement sensor and connector that has a few inches of wire. How do I splice this? -- PRescott7-2097 |

First, find some heat shrink tube that is correct for the wire size. Slide the tubing over the wire, and then twist the wire together in-line; not a pig-tail. Solder it, and let it cool. Then, slid the shrink tubing over it, and use a lighter/ match to shrink the tubing. Wrap with electrical tape to insure the seal.
Done. |

| reply to joako If you really want to go hardcore, they make waterproof heat shrink tubing. It has an inner layer that melts and forms a seal then the outer layer shrinks to protect it. Easier solution is what Juggernaut suggested, but I dab a bit of silicone sealer on each end of the heat shrink for extra protection from moisture. |
