 | Acanac does not care. 9th day and modem still processing? I'm a 3rd year Acanac DSL customer.
I called Acanac on Jan 3rd about my internet being down. They said its probably my modem's fault since it's 2 years old so they will ship me a new modem. I definitely know that it's not my modem's fault but I go along with it anyways because I assume that it wouldn't take long for my new modem to arrive. And once the new modem arrive and my internet is still down then they will send a bell tech over to check my telephone line.
I called 3 times previously on the 4th, 6th, 9th and finally again today on the 12th asking them why I haven't even gotten a fedex shipping # yet to check the shipping status of my modem. Every single phone call I get the following response "The modem is still processing it should ship soon".
Now I think Acanac don't even care about helping long time customers like myself. Definitely considering not renewing my contract with Acanac for a 4th year if I don't see some movement with my modem by tomorrow. |

Sales rep gave me a tracking number. Delivery date for tracking number? JULY 26TH 2012.
So I spend the majority of the phone call waiting for the sales rep to talk with his supervisor and he ends up telling me that things should be resolved within 48 hours and I should call back next wednesday.
I don't understand how hard it is to ship a modem to someone. I know its not the sales rep fault and its not your fault Lynn, but wtf are the guys at acanac that are responsible for shipping stuff doing here. |

Just a small update... As I first suspected, the modem had nothing at all to do with the internet problem. I even told Acanac before that I went to a neihgbour's house to try my old modem and the old modem worked fine but the rep insisted that I must get a new modem first before they can send a bell tech out.
Anyways, after TWO dropped calls in a row this morning I finally managed to talk to a 3rd acanac rep to get him to create a ticket and send a bell tech over. So much time was wasted on shipping the modem and my problem had nothing to do with the modem. |

| Your welcome. I wish I could have got some results for you faster. It is cases like this that make me shake my head. If you had not tried the modem elsewhere I would have said maybe the modem, but where you did try it at a neighbors and it worked fine that tells me that the modem definitely is not the problem. I am sorry for what you went through. I am glad to hear though that something is finally getting done for you. |

 | internet first went down dec 30th. internet connection still down as of jan 23 2012. i told the acanac rep that the best time for the bell tech to contact me is during the evening (5-9pm). did not get a phone call from a bell tech throughout the weekend. i called just now and the acanac rep told me that a bell tech tried to contact me on friday jan 20th around 10am. i looked at my phone and had no calls from anyone around that time. also i wasn't even suppose to be available at that time anyways.
lynn is there anything you can do regarding acanac making up for the lost internet connection time i've had? or do i have to call billing? this is the most horrible experience i've had with any internet company. it wasn't even that bad with bell when i was with them, except they were expensive. |

| Once you finally get this up and running(so we know how much time we are talking about) send an email to billing@acanac.com and let them know how long you were down for. I have talked to them for you and was told they will compensate you for down time. |
