Cooler And cleaner crunchers.

This is something that I came up with and thought I'd share it with TD. If you have dedicated crunchers or you just want a cooler and cleaner running computer and don't care much about esthetics this could be for you. I use it and it works very well.
Go to your local Lowes, HD, whatever and pick up the largest window AC unit filter you can find. They look like a big piece of sponge and are about 1/4 inch thick. Also buy a roll of velcro tape. Remove the side cover from the tower and place the prickly side of the velcro tape around the edges of the case. Stick the filter to the velcro and trim off the excess. Done. Allows for much better cooling and the filter will stop 95% of the dust. Just remove, clean and replace the filter as needed.

Great idea and advice ! Also, you can do what I do with several units...no case at all(yes, a bit more labor intensive cleaning-wise every so often)

My "caseless" crunchers also use the filters. I built a cabinet out of wood for them.

..and do those filters come in purple?

Nice idea!

That might work well alongside my gizmo:

This would probably work.

Rit dye is da bomb baby.
Boiling water, add Rit Dye... put in stuff in boiling water...
(Radio Controlled plastic parts for example )

Let boil for a bit and the plastic soaks up the color.

Pull stuff out of water and ta-da... custom colored items!

Don't use that tintex dye crap. Rit is it!
Lol
