Yes you are right. Can you post the entire diagram with the rest of the pinouts?

There 6 pages all total. These 2 pages are the bottom 1/4 of page 5 and 6. The full page the letters are to small or I am not doing it right. I have went thru the both k1 and k2 connectors 5 times and have not found a gry/blk wire. I'll look again tomorrow for the final time.

I'd like to see the top half of the lower pic to see the rest of the connections to the ECM. One thing about wires, they do at times change colors when they pass through different blocks and systems. You have to follow the wire through the diagram to the component to make sure of this.

Her is all 6 pages in pdf format I did not know how to the to show where is large enough to read. I might not be able to go look again today it raining out now and probably will not stop today.
I went back to the library where they have the auto repair books. I looked under all engines and it the the same gry/black wire. On the v8 it pin 71. Not finding it is driving me crazy

The diagram shows it as gry/blk all the way from the sensor on the output of the trans. I'm not sure what you mean about k1 and k2 connectors? That wire runs straight from the VSS to the ECM under the hood, to cavity #34.

There are 2 connectors. One is a 80 pin and the other is a 58 pin. I got the K1 and K2 wrong. On my car it suppose to be in the 58 pin side. The 80 pin is X1 and the 58 pin is X2.
I went and paid for a week on another site. It also shows gry/blk pin 43 in the X2 side. I went out and looked again and still not found a gry/blk wire.

Do you have the manual trans or automatic?

The wiring diagram only shows a manual transmission, so I suspect there is a difference. Can you locate the proper diagram for an automatic trans?

I could not find any thing about the VSS for a automatic transmission. I bought Alldata and a week of michell1 and both do not list anything for the automatic maybe they use a wheel speed sensor for the the speedometer.
I give up I'll take it to Cartoys and see if they can hook up the wire.
Thanks for the help.

Re: [Help] vss wire

That was my thought as well when I only found the M/T in the diagram. They are likely using the existing speed sensors for the auto trans then, which would be easy to do. I don't believe the wheel sensors are used in those cases.

Would what could be used for the speedometer input?

There are multiple sensors in the transmission that can be used for the VSS signal. Automatics compare speeds of input shafts vs. output shaft to detect slippage and control shift points, which isn't needed of course for a manual box.

I'll take a look and see if they are any connect for them.

There are no VSS wires on an automatic. If you want to tap into the OSS it's inside the trans , goes direct to TCM(which is part of the valve body), who talks to ECM, who talks to BCM, who then finally sends it to IPC all via GMLAN/LIN networks.

What were you needing VSS for?

I'll bet it's for an in-dash DVD/ GPS unit.

For a in dash navigation unit. It needs the speed sensor wire connection in case it the loses GPS signal.
I been looking for that wire. I can not find it any where. Do know the wire color that goes from the trans to the ecm
