1 edit | Money gag Looking for a sheet of fake money to print some flyers on. The more realistic the better.
Like the ones found here, only US: »www.mediafire.com/?7kz47p5el4zv7
If possible re-render the jpg/psd to proper us dollar measurements so I can print one sheet with like 4 on it. Will be hitting kinko's over the weekend to print the rest. |

The Secret Service does not have much of a sense of humor - the final result needs to be obvious that it isn't real money. |

| reply to ctceo Here's what the Secret Service says about illustrations of currency;
U.S. Currency The Counterfeit Detection Act of 1992, Public Law 102-550, in Section 411 of Title 31 of the Code of Federal Regulations, permits color illustrations of U.S. currency provided:
The illustration is of a size less than three-fourths or more than one and one-half, in linear dimension, of each part of the item illustrated
The illustration is one-sided
All negatives, plates, positives, digitized storage medium, graphic files, magnetic medium, optical storage devices, and any other thing used in the making of the illustration that contain an image of the illustration or any part thereof are destroyed and/or deleted or erased after their final use

Hopefully they won't shit a brick over this one then. I just need it made into a master sheet. |

ctceoPremium join:2001-04-26 South Bend, IN | Every time I try to make a full sheet I end up screwing it up with one bill overlapping the other or one bill stretching to fit the page. grrr. I wish I could get the aspect ratio correct with that bill above. |

My guess is this is why promotions on money and general humor fake bills are always in silly non existing denominations. | I think it's important as part of the message for these bills to be small, the smaller the better, because the message isn't in the size of the denomination, but the amount of control it has over your mind.
Has anybody been able to make a master sheet yet? 1x4 is probably all that's going to fit on a standard consumer printer. As long as aspect ratio is preserved it should work just fine. |

"8. The yellow 20's printed on the back are placed to form a constellation that assists anti-counterfeiting technology in copiers and computer imaging software in identifying a scanned image as currency. This constellation, called EURion, is also featured in the bank notes of several other countries." |

3 edits | reply to ctceo Anyone have a copy of some old-arse photo editing software that would be lacking this?
Well Irfanview + Canon MP250 + WIA Tool would only scan a tenth before abruptly stopping even a preview scan. When prompted to scan it seemed to do a full scan but returned no data to the application.

I wonder how much code is wasted for this feature. Kinda reminds me of how much bandwidth is being wasted of Sat TV stream encryption vs. actual data. |

| said by ctceo:Whats the highest res "print screen" you could get with that on-screen? I think it's 72 DPI. At least that's what photoshop says when I paste a screen print.
It might actually be 96 DPI. Months ago I did something with a ruler that I wanted scanned to an exact size and I think it came out exactly the correct size on the screen at 96 DPI.
Whatever it is, it is pretty low for any decent size printing. |

2 edits | I'm horrible at getting these things straight |
It would need to look believable at about 5-7 feet. Enough to get someone to pick it up and open it to read the facts printed inside.
Dual sided is not necessary as the bill will be folded 3 times to conceal the center and one perpendicular fold to hold the three folds together.
I already have some authentic looking and feeling paper to use.
Am I gonna go to jail? lol |

Am I gonna go to jail? lol I am not a lawyer but scanning US concurrency is frowned upon by Secret Service. Only the $1 bill is scannable because it hasn't been updated in a long time (not worth the cost for redesign) and hasn't received the eurion security enhancements.

My Fifty Dinar, Iraqi bill printed by the US Mint and issued in Iraq during the war don't seem to have any Eurion security features. Something tells me the whole "stop using capitalism" principle is heresy over there so printing some gag dinars would be a wasted point. |
