 | What type of DSL service in Springfield, MO? By that I mean is it pppoe or one of the new technologies AT&T is now using elsewhere? |

| Well, it is very hard to tell what kind of DSL you have. Try testing your address at ATT.com and this website will provide what they have. If they included Uverse TV and phone. Then it is VDSL2. If just Uverse internet, (no phone or TV) then it is ADSL2+. IF the website show just DSL internet offer up to Elite plan 6mbps . Then it is ADSL. Keep in mind all xDSL still use old crappy phone line. |

 | I don't currently have DSL. My question was an attempt to find out what is offered. |

 | reply to dragonman300 Keep in mind when you are making statements like "Keep in mind all xDSL still use old crappy phone line." that UVerse/VDSL still uses copper for the last leg of the connection. Your statement makes it sound like there is no copper involved in UVerse/VDSL, which is untrue. |

| reply to Juneau @juneau. It okay, you still can go to At&t store and ask them to help you out.
@Athos- what you talking about??? I stated that xDSL still use copper lines. The letter X next to the word DSL, defined any DSL which is mean it is either ADSL, ADSL2+, VDSL2 or other technologies that still use phone lines. I know that Uverse internet used the last mile copper lines to their home. If you like, you can look in Wikipeda »en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_su···ber_line and look the bottom paragraph with a title called "DSL technologies" |

 | Yes, most DSL uses copper. And what does cable use? Why copper, of course. Just how many fiber to the premise systems actually are in operation in the U.S.? Most operators have found it far more expensive than they thought to go fiber. |
