| Q & A from an Ebayer & seller:
"Q: Selling and Shipping of Girl scout cookies online is strictly against GSUSA policy : " Girls or their parents or a third party may not accept payment for Girl Scout product to be sold by" "girls online, with the exception of Girl Scout magazine vendors." Please adhere to the rules and make this a fair and moral event for all of us involved in this organization - Thank you Jan-07-12 A: Hi You are correct except for a couple of issues, 1 I am not a Girl Scout or affilated with the Girl Scouts in any way as stated in the description. 2 After I purchase the cookies they are mine and I can do anything that I want with them except duplicate them in any way. 3 I have sold cookies for 3 years on line and many of the cookies go to military people around the world and to Girl Scout Troop Leaders who do not have a particular cookie in there area. 4 Ebay and PayPal fees I pay personally and are my way of helping the Girl Scouts. 5 As for selling on line there is a Girl Scout council in southern Indiana that actively sells on line. 6 The cookies that I sell in no way hurts the sale of ant Girl Scout who sells at a booth or sells to friends and relatives etc. 7 And finally you should be more concerned as to why the Girl Scouts are so far behind the times. Also wht do the Girl Scouts have all if there sales material printed in China and Korea. This is stated on the printed material and the various orizes that the Girl Scouts have. Thankyou and have a good day Marv PS Be careful when you are in Afghanistan becaue our military personell in that part of the world like cookies to.Also this will be posted on the ebay listing" -- In God we trust; all others bring data!

Those people have no soul what soever There is nothing immoral about selling them on ebay when you look at the big picture, plus you can buy them all in the store nowadays anyway.
The people without souls are the ones in the Girl Scout administration that still force the cookie sales on the troops. Per box sold the troop gets about $0.50. If you want to donate to the troop write a check for 50% of the amount you would have spent and just pick up the cookies next time your at the store. You still spend $20 bucks, you still get 3-4 boxes of cookies, The troop gets $10 instead of $2. |

Re: Girl Scout Cookies sold on eBay What stores sell Girl Scout Cookies? I have never seen this in Georgia. I thought part of the purpose of the cookie sales was to get was to get the girls at least somewhat involved in the selling activity. I always get mine from the stands outside the various stores in the community. |

Xioden join:2008-06-10 Monticello, NY | Keebler who makes the girl scout cookies sells them in stores as well. Samoas = Fudge Shoppe Coconut Dreams, Thin mints = grasshoppers. Those are all I remember having as "girl scout cookies" so they may have others as well. |

Samoas = Fudge Shoppe Coconut Dreams, This is all you need to know. They started selling them a few years ago. Just buy these for cheap and donate to your local troop directly if you really want to. -- »[Info] The DSLR Orangeface extension 2.0! |

I find the Thin Mints to be different from the Grasshoppers produced by Keebler. Major difference for me is the Thin Mints cause a near instant hearburn unlike the Grasshoppers. I would bet there are differences in ingredients. The cookies in the Grasshoppers seemed to be lighter in texture than the Thin Mints.
There are about 6 different GS cookies and different councils can have a different mix. -- Brian

As someone who used to manage money for a boy scout troop back in the day $10 goes much further than $2 any day of the week no matter who you are. -- If you have a topic in the direct forum please reply to it or a post of mine, I get a notification when you do this. Yes there are two different makers and they make the cookies differently. Everytime we have moved my wife does a search to see which type the local GS sell. If it is the 'wrong' bakery, she has her mother buy extra of the 'correct' cookies and ship them to her. My wife says there is a difference. I can't really tell as I don't eat many of them. -- Cry "Havoc!" and let slip the dogs of war |

OlegBellsouth FastaccessPremium join:2003-12-08 Birmingham, AL | Your wife can buy them online like on Amazon. |
|
 | They have an app for that.
Blurb on the local news - the GS do have an app to tell you where to buy cookies.
Maybe it will keep the brats and their parents from blocking supermarket doors and harassing shoppers.
If my kid was supposed to sell something - I'd find out how much she was supposed to sell, give the club that amount and not pester my neighbors. I don't like being pestered at the door, so I wouldn't allow kid to pester. |

| the main point of selling cookies isn't to raise money. and this goes for any fund raiser. the funds are a great side effect and unfortunately have turned into the main point of fund raisers anymore. but that isn't how it started. the selling of girl scout cookies, or popcorn for boy scouts, was started as a way for the kids to learn some self confidence and communication skills. this goes along with the main objective of scouting; to grow kids and teens into responsible, mature adults. a kid learns a lot about how to interact and negotiate when they have to approach a stranger and pitch a box of cookies or popcorn. especially when the stranger doesn't really need the junk food and if they really want the junk food can get it cheaper at the grocery store. unfortunately safety is a big concern now and people just don't want their kids walking door to door to sell cookies or popcorn or whatever. and the parents are also too lazy to go with them for the most part. so parents end up taking the order forms to work and tossing them on the break room table. the kids have no part in it anymore which is really unfortunate.
this is why selling girl scout cookies online is retarded. |
