That's awesome! You think you guys can make it out west (called out east over here) this year? |

Should be noted:
Jays are 6W, 2L and 1T so far this spring season. Not that it means 'everything' but it doesn mean something.
Got my first set of tickets today...kids will enjoy. |

I don't take any result in Spring seriously. No one is really playing their full team, pitchers aren't playing full games, etc.
Hopefully you and your kids will enjoy the game. Who are the Jays playing for the game? |

Kids will enjoy it regardless, they'll run the bases afterwards, ride the train before and after. I'll leave at 8 in the morning, arrive at Yorkdale around 9, see if we can get some gear, take train to Union Station, have lunch, go to dome early, sit in outfield 100's, catch some practice balls, then head to our section. The Jays are still the best value around for major league sports. |

I didn't realize Lawrie had hit this well last year. Shame that we kept him in the minors at the beginning of the season and ruined his ROTY chances last year and this year. Brett Lawrie tearing the cover off the ball in Floridaquote: Lawrie was one of the ALs best hitters after debuting at the tender age of 21 last August, batting .293/.373/.580 with nine homers and 25 RBI in 43 games. He ended up with 150 at-bats, so he wont be eligible for Rookie of the Year honors this season. Perhaps hell just set his sights on the MVP award instead.
I'll be getting a Lawrie jersey this year. I love his attitude and what he brings to the table. He has energy, skill and he's Canadian. :P |

If Lawrie does well this year, I do believe he never had enough at-bats last year to disqualify him from Rookie of the Year this year.
Nice to see a fellow Canuck in Toronto that actually could be something like a Larry Walker. (.313 lifetime BA) I know of a lot of people getting Lawrie Jerseys...him or Bautista.
There has been talk..in the baseball world...about this years team. No one is saying their going to lead the AL East. However...they are saying that this new playoff format is going to benefit one team in the AL East...it's pointed at the Jays. Regardless, the East is top heavy....you can still have 4 great teams in that division..(5 in Baltimore decides to play again) |

Lawrie had 150 at-bats last year which disqualifies him since 130+ gets you disqualified for the next year.
The Jays are getting better and they have a lot of young talent with huge potential. They aren't just a young team, they're talented. I think this is why a lot of fans were not happy when the Jays didn't do much this off season. We aren't one player away from challenging for a title, but we are one player away from challenging for the playoffs.
While I'm sure the Blue Jays are hoping for bounce back years from guys like Cecil, adding a potential ace like Darvish wouldn't have hurt.
I see the Blue Jays having a good season, but I'm not sure if they'll make the playoffs with the off season the other teams had. Detroit picked up Fielder and they're going to a powerhouse. Minnesota should have a healthy team this year so they're also going to be a tough team to beat. Los Angeles picked up Pujols so you gotta think they will contend too.
In my mind it's same as last year, New York, Texas and Detroit winning divisions. Then you have teams like Los Angeles, Tampa Bay and Boston fighting for the wild card while I think Toronto is on the cusp of becoming one of those teams. |
