Krellan join:2001-06-06 Castro Valley, CA | [Line Problem] DSL speed took huge hit and line is now unreliabl Today | October |
It's been happening more and more recently, but it's gotten especially bad today.
In October, my line was doing well, 6016/768 as it should be. I'm in Castro Valley, CA. See the attached spectrum graph, made using the Deblin tool.
Now, today, look at the other picture. It's pretty much decimated from what it was before. The holes are wider, the slope is not smooth anymore, and so on. It works about as pretty as it looks. The line can barely hold 3200, let alone 6016, on the download.
Any chance I could get somebody from AT&T to take a look at my line? The problem isn't local with my wiring, because at the NID jack, it's the same thing. My modem hasn't changed, either, and I tried resetting it several times, to try and get it to resync at a better rate.
Please let me know best way to proceed. Should I post in DSL Direct? |

Post in Direct. There isn't anything you can do if the same results are out at your NID. -- TCE Weather |

 | Temporarily short out the phone line wires for about a minute and see what happens afterwards.

 | reply to Krellan My DSL service in Santa Cruz area has been at ISDN (250K/90K) levels since before xmas. First thought it was just holiday traffic, obviously that was not the case I have now activated Comcast in same house with (6M/1.5M) for less money and AT&T will soon go. |
