 | Current Teksavvy ONT DSL Customer - Upgrade to Cable 24Mbps? Hello, This post is very similar to Jezzy's post (except he is located in Quebec and he has faster DSL options) but I didn't want to hijack his thread. Basically, I am a current Teksavvy Ontario DSL customer located in Kitchener (but connected to the Preston, ON exchange) and I have been told that 5mb (possibly 6mb) is the fastest DSL available to me. Since the price of the 5/6mb plan is increasing I have been looking at alternatives. One such option is to upgrade to the Cable 24Mpbs plan for a bit more money. However, based on the Kitchener Stop Sell and other posts in this forum it looks like the Kitchener area is notoriously bad for Cable Internet. Anyway, I would appreciate it if people familiar with Cable Internet in the Kitchener area would provide some guidance on this decision. I do not want to switch to cable if it is lightening quick sometimes but extremely slow or no Internet at other times. Realizing that everyone shares the same pipe I would probably be ok with super fast speeds during non-peak times and acceptable speeds (~15+ Mbps) during peak times. Thanks in advance! |
