Just Got The MagicJack

I have been reading some of the reviews and was wandering, how long did it take before some of you started having problems.
Was it right away or later,
Also, My internet speeds are 60mb's download and 4mb's upload
so, should I be fine as far as the service goes, because right now it works great the calls are very clear

Compared to you, most of us have much slower connections. Any upload speed above 150-200Kbps will support MJ without any trouble.

Here's a very, very brief guide to keeping MJ working well:

I think that having a halfway-decent computer dedicated to MJ [I use a customized laptop to conserve power; some here swear by Thin Clents] and at least some rudimentary implementation of QoS is more important than whether you have 256Kbps or 768Kbps or 4Mbps upload. If you don't have QoS, make sure no one else is using the same connection for BitTorrent, usenet etc.

Another factor is how many other customers are using the same MJ server as you are. In the past, overloaded servers meant choppy audio, even if everything I mentioned before now was perfect. In the early days of MJ, there were ways to choose your server. I'm not sure if that's feasible now, or whether it's still necessary.

I have the magicjack plus, so I don't have to hook it up to a computer. My router supports Qos so how much bandwidth would you say I need to give to the magicjack to make it work right without having to worry about failures

200Kbps up and down should be more than enough.

Just to let everyone know everything is still going smooth with the magicjack no complications yet. I ported over my number from my old phone service Charter Communications, if any of you use Charter and decide to go with magicjack when you are porting the number just use the name fiberlink llc and it will work, that's what I did took 4 days to port. I will keep you all updated if anything changes
