I sure hope my Ravens offense shows up this time. We won't win with a performance like we put up against Houston but give the Texans' defense credit, they are STRONG. New England's defense? Not so much.. Key will be to keep Brady off the field as much as possible.
Giants are playing amazing football right now and seem to be on track for the super bowl appearance but I'm sure San Fran will have something to say. Should be a close game which could come down to which team makes the first big mistake. I see the Giants pulling away with the win. -- "The man who thinks he can and the man who thinks he can't, are both right. Which one are you?" |

 | reply to Moorecards I don't care who wins the NFC, but somebody please beat the Pats! |

capdjqButt outPremium join:2000-11-01 WetCoaster | reply to Moorecards Ravens Great Defense average (not championship caliber) offense. How long will they be able to stand against Brady and all his weapons? My guess not too long. New England should win this especially in their own home.
SF vs Giants. This one is hard to pick. I'll give it to SF, especially since its a home Game.
A SF vs NE OR Giants vs NE will be, probably the best, SB scenarios. A SF vs Ravens the most boring. After the Harbaugh brothers storyline, there is nothing else. It will be like watching the first Alabama vs LSU game. -- You have the right to believe what you want; I have the right to believe its ridiculous.

Especially if Baltimore plays the way they did against the Texans. I was not overly impressed with their performance in that one. I also agree the NYG/SF game is a tough one to pick. SF playing at home helps, and they seem to be on some sort of crazy 'magical mystery tour' mission to win it all. The Giants on the other hand really seem to be clicking on all cylinders, and are hard to count out for sure. To go into Green Bay like that and come out with an impressive win is, well, pretty impressive. Tough to bet against them right now in any game. Since I'm a NY fan in general, I'll probably be picking the G-Men for the win.
The Pats game kills me. Being a Jets fan, I root against them all season long, and now I may have to force myself to root for them. Believe me, not an easy thing for me to do. -- I had a life once.....now I have a Computer and a Modem. |

If the Pats play anything like they did against Denver, the game will be over by half time.
NY /49'ers game will the one to watch. -- No, I didn't. Honest... I ran out of gas. I... I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from out of town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake....... |

capdjqButt outPremium join:2000-11-01 WetCoaster | T.J. Yates threw three interceptions and was over matched on the big playoff stage. I think Schaub would have performed better than Yates. The Ravens scored three points in the last 46 minutes, and amassed 227 yards all day. Against Brady that will be suicide. I doubt that Flacco has much of a chance to win a scoring contest with Brady or whether the Ravens defense can hold Brady for long. |

Jay_Formerly known as CarnagePremium join:2001-05-15 Pickering On kudos:2 | The biggest thing is the Patriots defense is no where near as good as the Texans. Ravens should (should being the keyword..) be able to move the ball easier against them than they did the Texans which in turn helps the defense stay fresh against Brady.
I'm worried as much as the next guy but I'm hoping the Ravens offense shows up to play (because the defense always does, not worried about them). -- "The man who thinks he can and the man who thinks he can't, are both right. Which one are you?" |

| reply to Moorecards Both Ravens offensive and defensive lines played very poorly. Also gotta give credit to Houston whose lines played exceptionally well. Joe is getting absolutely drawn and quartered by the media. He didn't throw any game-changing picks, but also didn't make plays with his feet. When everything goes according to plan, and everybody executes their assignments Joe is very good but when $hit breaks down he really struggles.
Hoping for a big turnaround on the offensive side of the ball this weekend. Can't remember the last time they really clicked on offense though. Cam Cameron will be looking for a new job next year if they lose, and perhaps even with a W. |

Pats by spread and over.

I'll have to go with the 49er's over the Giants.
But i do like the Giants because they booted Green Bay out and also ruined the Patriots almost perfect season, a few years back..:+) -- I work hard. I play hard. I stay hard. |

[edit] Actually, never mind. Don't really want another low-scoring 16-6 type affair. |

The time is now for this team to win it all, although they are currently considered easily the weakest team left in the tournament. As usual I am hopeful but not brimming with confidence. If the offense showed any kind of consistency it would be different. That said...GO RAVENS!! |

| reply to Moorecards Should be another good weekend of football. I am rooting for the Ravens and the niners. I would love to see two strong defensive teams playing. It will be interesting to see how the Pats and the giants fare against strong defenses.

| reply to Moorecards If it's defense that wins championships, then it looks like a Ravens-Giants Superbowl. Except this has been the year of the offense, and Ravens-Giants means that both visiting teams win. Plus, San Francisco can play a little defense too.
As well, the Giants lost twice this year to Washington, who won only three other games. This doesn't speak well towards high confidence in the Giants, regardless of how well they've played the last couple of games.
New York-Baltimore may have the most potential for a close, hard-fought Superbowl, but SF-NE has potential for a very entertaining game too, as possibly Baltimore-San Francisco could be. But the Pats and Niners aren't playing at home for no reason, so I'll go with them as simply the better teams, and therefore playing each other in the Big Bowl. |
