 | Cogeco can you please stop changing the channel ? Cogeco I love my pvr/dvr/cable box in that it lets me record shows but honestly I can't get the most out of it if you continue to switch the channel that the program is on and make it different from the listing on your on screen channel guide. I am sick and tired of seeing sporting events switched from one channel to another at the last minute. If you say NJ vs Bos is going to be on channel 455 can you please keep it there ? I don't appreciate setting it up to record a certain game and then find out I have recorded a game listing menu or another game I didn't want. Seriously a pvr/dvr/cable box is cool in that you can set up a schedule for recording but when the cable service provider is switching the programming to different channels at the last second and I have gone on vacation or gone out to the store for 2 or 3 hours or have gone out for dinner I am screwed. Pvr/dvr/cable box is supposed to provide convenience and not this. |

| NHLCI can be a pain in the butt, but in all honesty its not Cogeco that's making the change. They recieve the updates 2-3 weeks previously from whoever makes the guide, then they upload it in...if NHLCI (or in this case Rogers who they get the channels from) decides to make a change at the last minute, it is really out of their hands....
I don't know why they make the changes, but Cogeco's just along for the ride....If you're out of the house, I'd look at the prevue channel for NHLCI where they show the scores and whatnot and the schedules and whatnot, whatever it is and not the guide and then do a manual recording for those times just to be sure if the game is important. |

| reply to channelswtch I absolutely hated NHLCI on Cogeco - very unreliable games listings. Now, what displays is what I get.
So... no such problem with Shaw Direct.

Mike -- No more UBB... nor more AVP... now it's "Capacity Based". Oh... wait... isn't that what we wanted? |

 | No Devils HD tonight despite it saying on the schedule it is supposed to be available to me ....
$31 for partial service .... in fact didn't they increase the cost this year ? |

(And what I found was, games with low attendance got axed from the schedule)

but @cgocable.net | ... but it doesn't mean they need to change the channel that the games are going to be on as it kind of defeats the purpose of having timer record and listing games on stations ahead of time |

| Agreed. That's why I didn't bother ordering it for the last 2 years I was on Cogeco - it was just too damned frustrating trying to figure out which games were on and on what channel, because what the CI guide showed rarely matched up with what was actually being aired.
My wife is a rabid Red Wings fan, and when it showed Detroit VS [enter name of victim team here] and that game turned out to be unavailable or some other game, there was hell to pay. Hell, I say. At $30/Mo, it just wasn't worth the aggravation.
Not a problem now.
