Flash Speed Test Slowdown and Crash in Firefox When I attempt to use the flash download/upload speed test tool in Mozilla Firefox, the animation of the speedometer has severe frame rate issues, turns into a slideshow, and eventually freezes. After the freeze, sometimes the flash plugin will crash and sometimes after a few seconds of freezing, the download test will finish and the test will proceed to the upload portion.
In the case of a crash, I receive an error popup from Adobe Flash Player stating "A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash Player to run slowly...." (see attached screenshot) followed by the speed test speedometer turning into a gray box with the text "The Adobe Flash plugin has crashed.".
In the case of the upload portion starting after the freeze, I receive a low download speed test number (typically about 50% of when I do the test in internet explorer or chrome) but then the "upload" portion does not experience any frame rate problems or other problems.
I've disabled all add-ons in Firefox but the problem still persists. I've also tried doing the flash speed test in Google Chrome and Microsoft Internet Explorer and it works perfectly in both those browsers. I've tried 3 different severs to do the speed test from and they all have this problem.
I'm running Mozilla Firefox 9.0.1 on Windows 7. The "verify plugin" option on the speed test tells me that my Adobe Flash Player is version 11,1,102,5.
I'd prefer not to have to switch browsers just to use this test so any help resolving this issue would be appreciated. Thank you.
