He may have tried to run this country to the ground, but the democrat party isn't stupid enough to have this extremely unpopular bill go so far that it would add more fuel to the fire for people not to vote for him.
I'm not trying to turn this into politics, But a Bill such as SOPA, is politics. Considering it's widely unpopular with the voters, and it's a major election year.
I'm thinking this will come back in January of 2013, after the election is over, and the dust has settled. After all, the industries that support the bill have paid, my bad, donated money to re-election war chests.

| I agree that politics is a huge part of this, but willful ignorance and the devil of RIAA/MPAA lobbyists (with cash and promises) is as well.
Obamacare was wildly unpopular with voters and it passed. As a result several congresscritters and senators have decided to "retire" because of the backlash. They knew it was unpopular and cut very toxic special deals that went public, and voted for it anyway. None of those ex-politicos are hurting for cash. They'll fall on their sword if the price is right. | |
