It'll hit about 80mbps with a 100baseT interface. If you want a full "100mbps", go gigabit Ethernet.

Thanks that sounds about right im only getting around 70-75 meg on speed test.I was told by the technician it was because i didn't have a gigabit Ethernet card.

a 100baseT ethernet has overhead, which varies by the router maker and the chipset maker. My old router was a 10/100 router, and I could only get about 85 on it. As soon as I got a full gig connection capable router, I constantly am able to get 100+ speed test and actual results. look here(»www.smallnetbuilder.com/lanwan/r···rts/view) for a router that gets good WAN to LAN thruput. Anything on that chart that gets better than 100 will be fine, but it really shows how much overhead can really be.
