| [Line Problem] DSL drops approximately the same time every night I guess since the just after Christmas 2011 I have notice that my 2wire 2701HG-B losses sync nearly the same time every night repeatedly for about an hour or more then usually stays synced. I can surf, mmo, do what ever online from the morning until about 6:45 pm or 7pm central time. And that is when the connection will drop reconnect etc randomly for about the next hour or more. It runs fine until then zero problems then at night very unstable. I called att and was on the phone for about 2 hrs and the person said it is my modem because there was a lot of noise on the line. I said if it's my modem why does it work perfectly all day until around 6:45pm? Personally I dont think it is the modem. Then she said if I send someone out and they dont find anything wrong with the line it will cost me $99. So my response was do you have anyone that works from 6:30pm -9:00pm when my line is having trouble? No they work til 4. Great check the line when there isn't an issue. She asked if I had an old modem ,and i did find another old modem netopia 3347nwg and hooked it in it synced they ran some test on the line with that modem and I guess it found something. It kicked it to a "network tech" ticket so now they will come out to the house for free. And check the outside wiring. Any advice?

Should I buy a new modem and if I buy a modem not from att am i screwed on service. ie not out modem not our problem. |

| Re: [Line Problem] DSL drops approximately the same time every n usually if there is a specific time that the connection drops, it is a bandwidth related issue... if your modem is not too old..a tech should be dispatched to check AT&T network facilities |
