 | Value of this tower? I have a used tower. Pictures attached. Wondering what a reasonable price to ask for it is? I'm being told it's worth scrap as it needs to be re certified, etc.
There's 4 20' sections, the base, what appears to be a dish mount bracket, and 2-3 sets of guys. I don't have the bolts that hold the sections together.
I've been offered $500 for it. Seems rather low. I can't even buy a 100' roll of 3/16" steel cable for under $100 anymore. The guy cables alone should be worth $500.
Thanks for any thoughts.... |

As long as it appears to be structurally safe and no rusting, then it should be all right.
However I would replace the abrasive guy wire attachments. I don't have the citation handy, but once you place a strain/load on those grips, they should not be reused. Grep around the Preformed Line Products web site for GUY-GRIP dead-ends and you'll find that once they has been in use three months, they should be replaced if tensioned is removed. |

 | reply to Virtual69 I see some bent pieces in one of the pics above. Not sure it's part of the tower or something else. But I would not touch this at ALL.
If there's ANYTHING bent, there's been a strain more than it was capable of handling, and thus the entire tower could have been pushed past limit somewhere.
Price is shady, info is shady, nope... don't do it. |

 | reply to WHT Sounds reasonable, and even if you have a bent section you have 4 good 20ft towers. -- www.windriverwireless.com |
