Re: New DSL and CABLE price comparison Quebec starting february

Your web site was changed. Good thing. However, the French version still says that torrent is not allowed.

How do you do your static ip? They are not available with cable. VPN? If yes, what kind of VPN? Can you get full speed with the VPN?

IP address is provided via special router which makes VPN open tunnel. Simply plugin that router with your Modem and get your dedicated IP, we can offer multiple static IP's from the same router, You get almost 100% speed on 3, 8, 15 and 30MB speeds however for 60MB you need a router with much higer CPU power.

I converted my plan to 8MB unlimited.

You can't beat the quality of the bandwidth,

Ping to google.com 10MS
Ping to voip.ms 1MS
Ping to Bell 2MS

70% traffic goes to Level3

Ah I just realized who you are. You are one of Gemstelecom resellers.

No wonder why you are spamming this forum with your commercial.

Back in 2010, Gemstelecom name was first spammed here. This was followed by 2 new people who registered right after the spam.

One guy came to DSLr, registered and posted how fantastic it was then never came back.
»/profile/1772856

His only post was to shill Gemstelecom.

And of course there was you who also joined that same day, explaining how you are a Gemstelecom reseller and how super fantastic Gemstelecom is and on and on...
»Re: Quebec Cable: Wholesale Versus Videotron

You really had nothing to say in this forum since Dec. 2010 and now you are spamming about the Quality of an unknown ISP with BS terms hoping to make sales.

Why don't you guys create your own topic instead of putting your BS spam and shilling work in this one?

I mean if you are that great Gemstelecom would be a known name here. I see no reason to shill, or create BS accounts to shill more then disappear.

Honesty will get you more respect than shilling and BS'ing people with fake posts by fake people who shill then disappear.

Also, and seriously, if you are going to post about how fantastic it all is, and how the "quality" can't be beat and so on, at least be honest and tell people you are their reseller in your shill post.

I'm upset with you guys spamming BS now. If you think I'm a jackass when i'm not upset, just wait till I am

I hope the others realize what you guys are doing here and just ignore you.

I've never asked the mod here to ever do anything, but if ever i would I would ask him to tell you to create your own topics where the two of you could go to work on the users of this forum with your BS instead of polluting other topics with your spam, like you did in 2010 before disappearing.

You don't want me to write unless I know what it's about?

Aaaah.

Well, I see your residential service FAQ detailing it pretty well, and it hasn't changed at all.
»en.gemstelecom.com/faq/residential

Can I use Torrent or Webserver on Gemstelecom DSL or Cable service?
No, Torrent, webservers, SMTP relays are prohibited on Gemstelecom network.

Maybe you should fix up your entire site instead of some page with a special that can disappear at any time?

BTW, I still don't see a link to your internet ToS. When I click on ToS all I get is the voip ToS.

Can you paste your residential internet ToS link here? PLS & TY.

Who cares if it was badly worded on the website, he is trying to fix it

TagTeam

@videotron.ca

Well he has had a chance to fix it since 2010.

These two guys work as a tag-team on the forum to shill their net.

Just understand one thing, TPIA's got the new price confirmation from Videotron just today, until now we are acting upon the CRTC ruling. We are wroking overnight to get the new setup and price structure going. Videotron TPIA department is not even ready for the new billing system.

We changed the wording on requests from public.

By the way there is a difference between "Blocked" and "Prohibited" You might want to check the fine print on Bell, Rogers and Videotron site and see where a customer stands on it.

Bottom line is the end user has to decide where he/she wants to go.

Glad that someone is letting us know about what's going on... So, how is Videotron going to bill you guys? All manually until they set the system up?

SQ serves the court order from Superior court of Quebec, Copyright infringements comes under Quebec Superior court, thus the mention of SQ knocking on your door.

Haha. I really doubt the SQ is knocking at the doors of filesharers because they just happened to download the latest britney spears MP3 via bit torrent (which is 100% legit content -- distribution maybe not), on the another hand you can be assured if your users are transmitting child pornography, hate speech or just sending out death threats then yes the SQ will definitely show up at their door but there's no need to remind us. Just stuff all those details in your TOS

Videotron, Bell and Rogers do not prohibit or block torrents.
They however prohibit web servers and block TCP ports 80 and 25.

pallo, read what the gemstelecom guy said.

Voltage goes to court, wins right to obtain identity of the suspects. Then Voltage accuses suspects of breaking the (copyright) law. Superior court accepts the charges and uses the SQ to deliver the charges to the suspect. (they act as couriers).

Also I would suggest to copy the contents of column J ("Invoiced Amount w/out DryLoop (Tax In)") into column L ("Invoiced Amount
w/ DryLoop (Tax In)") for all the cable pricing (instead of "N/A") because this allows a quick comparison between the total cost for dryloop taxed DSL and the final cable price by using the drop down filter menu.

Good suggestion. I'll get that done to make it easier to compare based on price.

I have also downloaded a copy that I worked on here and gave to my coworkers (slow workday )... I was thinking that it would be useful to add B2B2C (some of the worst pricing here, but some of my coworkers use it) and Colba with lots of asterisks and notes stating that their service is not available but in a few areas.

Obviously Acanac and Teksavvy Cable (if they ever release pricing) will make a lot of difference.

As a side note, I noticed that Colba now offers capped FTTN but only on business tiers, although the prices are not at all bad. They also seem to offer IPTV on regular ADSL (GAS and FTTN!) not just their own ADSL2+ co-located. I wonder how much data usage will that add.
