Got my profile change, so back to 800kpbs upload from the 512kpbs they tried to stick me with. Ping time still higher, but better than many get and everything working well, so guess I can't really complain about that. |

I got the upgrade to 6M but my upstream changed to 512k from solid 800k that I had over the years. Probably it's some kind of default on the Bell tool? Hopefully TSI can fix it up for me |

Have requested they look into it, as I've been rock solid with 800 for the past two years. No reason to reduce upload speed as my line stats are good. New download speed is nice, though. Haha. Typical Bell. im sure if the IKNS bug doing its work. lol |

It affects the end user in a way... let's say teksavvy pushes the "Max upgrade" profile from the reading line stats tool. It will give most of the time always lower upload to 512kb profile. Also, some people can't seem to sync at 800Kb, never mind the 1088kb. |

saw my modem cycle yesterday morning thinking i finally got my 5 to 6 meg upgrade. instead of getting my upgrade as requested i got put on a 640k line instead of 6 meg. My goodness. Clearly from my stats i got put on a CO. Not too long ago, on the same line with everything the same. I use to have a solid 7meg with bell. » i.imgur.com/YCY6U.jpgNow teksavvy saying there may be a charge of 87.70+tax to fix lol |

Now teksavvy saying there may be a charge of 87.70+tax to fix lol Wow. That's terrible. |

surfing at these speeds!! Pages load in 15 seconds. Oh well hopefully teksavvy takes care of it. Never really had any problems with them until now. |

Sounds to me you got moved off a remote to a CO. A ticket would be required. There always a possibility of a charge when a ticket is opened. It doesn't necessarily mean that you will be charged. |

Asking me change modems and whatnot when we clearly know the problem is that i was moved to a CO |

Yes I can see that... but at this point, we're still waiting on your approval to open the ticket. |

Tek can send a ticket to bell for a raise to best profile. |

So I'm guessing that there's going to be a whole lot of profile changes tomorrow to be ready for the 2nd? |

If not, they'll be a whole bunch of customer posting & calling in to get their profile speeds raised |

My line still hasn't been upped to 6 ... I know it can handle it as at one time it was running at 7 mbit and never had a problem. Still no errors of any sort on the line.
So I imagine I won't be getting upgraded automatically, or do you really think it'll happen tonight? If it doesn't, what should I do? |

Haven't got that increase yet from 5 to 6mbps. |

Its noon, still no 5 to 6mbps yet !
I know this would be another bandwidth grab since there is probarly less than 0.5% of Teksavvy's subscribers that know or even care ! |

Called in the morning and got my speed bump. It's a shame it only went to 6 from 5. Damned misleading when Bell gives their own customers 7 profiles to compensate for the overhead but won't for the independents. I'm not sure why that has not been brought up at the CRTC or during any of the hearings on speed matching.
Edit to add. It's nice just to have the minor bump though. It'll help with Netflix that is now streaming almost non stop for my gf. |
