Re: [DSL] Official 5Megs to 6Megs upgrade thread.

My line still hasn't been upped to 6 ... I know it can handle it as at one time it was running at 7 mbit and never had a problem.

Haven't got that increase yet from 5 to 6mbps.

Its noon, still no 5 to 6mbps yet !

I know this would be another bandwidth grab since there is probarly less than 0.5% of Teksavvy's subscribers that know or even care !

Called in the morning and got my speed bump. It's a shame it only went to 6 from 5. Damned misleading when Bell gives their own customers 7 profiles to compensate for the overhead but won't for the independents. I'm not sure why that has not been brought up at the CRTC or during any of the hearings on speed matching.

Edit to add. It's nice just to have the minor bump though. It'll help with Netflix that is now streaming almost non stop for my gf.

I just got my upgrade as I am now getting over 5Mbps. Not sure when it happened though. Looks like bHell is working through them slowly.

Called Teksavvy around noon, didn't seem to be busy as I got through with no wait times.

The tech said Bhell hasn't got around to the speed bump yet, just wait a "couple of weeks" as it is beyond their control ! ...WTH

I am paying for a 6Mbps/800Kps service darn it !

What pisses me off more than anything else is that Teksavvy never officially warned their customers about the fee increases, I mean with emails these days it shouldn't be a big deal or expense to do !

After the upgrade, what kinds of speeds can we expect?

I currently get 4.1 or so now. Will I get the full 6 Mbit after the upgrade? I just assumed that I would since Bell says they support a 15 Mbit profile for me. At a friend's place, they have Bell Fibe 6 and they get the full 6 Mbit.

Can I expect the same, or is there some funny business going on here because you are a reseller?

Wednesday, I watched my download jump from the usual 554kb all the way to 648kb for a grand total of 4 seconds - then it's been stuck at 554 since. Is that my upgrade all finished then? Is my price increase fairly applied to me now that I have had 4 seconds of upgraded service?

What data is required for the Direct Support forums to request a 5 to 6meg upgrade?
I'd like to try as where I live in the middle of nowhere I don;t Bell would ever get around to updating it on their own.
Thx
