[Help] Exide Charger

Click for full size
I have a exide charger, I need to charge a 12volt car battery. I tried to find the manual and trying hard to remember.

NOW I am just charging. There are two switches, one is 2amp and 10 amp. 2nd switch is "normal" and "engine start". I have it set up as on 10amp and normal, this should be correct, right?

10 amp would be the fast charge setting. The 2 amp is for trickle charging. You have it setup correctly.

Yes. The 10 amp setting is for a quick charge to get mobile fast. I'd give it an hour or more to be sure.

You're welcome.

Depending on the age of it, that's not surprising.

Trust me on this - don't use 10 amp for a lawn mower battery...

Lol I figured 2amp is for small batteries.

Actually it works fine for automotive batteries, and is used as a maintenance charge rate.

is a maintenance charge the same as when I have seen people who own classic cars that get garaged all winter and they seem to have a charger hooked to it during the winter months?

Yes, and they are sometimes referred to as a "float charger".
