 | [Windsor] DOCSIS 3 modem problems? So it's been many months I've been having issues. Since at least August. I've even posted a couple of times before regarding these issues. Over the past month things are becoming unbearable. I am lucky to get 1M download speeds at any time of day or night and the speedtests are all over the place inconsistent with the data transfer and don't even complete or download the data most times. High ping times as well. Plugged directly in the modem, various computers, etc. So unbearable it has been, that I had to call Cogeco and a tech came out. He was very knowledgeable, took his time and checked out everything in my house, end-to-end, right out and up the pole. He was on the phone telling somebody about this level and that level. When he was finished, he confirmed that it had NOTHING to do with anything on my end. Higher-up technicians had to come out. So a couple weeks go by and finally one comes. I am told everything is perfect in back of my house and up the poles etc. He did a bit of maintenance but that's all he could do. Apparently there is an issue with the network in Burlington or whatever with the cards the DOCSIS 3 modems use, they have ordered new ones and that will fix the problem. Does anybody know about this?? If things were as pathetic as my internet is around their network I would imagine this forum to be blowing up with comments. I've even had some some issues with my TV channels freezing up or not be available sometimes over the past month. Long-term errors on my cable boxes. I feel it is related to whatever the heck is going on but I could be wrong. My phone service with them has been unaffected. So especially since I upgraded to the Turbo 20 things have been nothing but downhill and still getting worse! It is barely useable now. I almost forget what it's like having normal fast internet. I mean, I've been paying the full-price for it all this time. I have tried to be patient through all of this but the time has come for something to be done. Would anybody be able to look into this??? |
