mcevoys join:2002-02-06 Ridgefield, CT 1 edit | CT Revenue Comes Up Short Following Historic Tax Increase Governor Dannel Malloy, who balanced the states budget by raising income taxes the most in state history last year, said receipts havent met estimates, leading to a $94.9 million revenue miss in fiscal 2012.
The lower-than-expected tax collections mirrors a trend in other states with high-wage earners including New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts, Malloy said yesterday in a statement. Based on official estimates, fiscal 2013 revenue is projected to trail forecasts by $139 million, according to the statement.

Winning! Atta boy Danny!!! This only goes to show that his tax program was not a well thought through proposal, not the veritable stroke of genius that he thought it was. His Amazon tax was ill-conceived, even he said he had no idea how much Amazon sold in CT. The effects of raising business taxes was a surprise to most, I'm sure. We lost how many small businesses? How much was spent on unemployment for the lost jobs? It cost the state how much to bribe companies to stay in CT?
I don't think he can find his butt with both hands. We'd have done better with Charlie Sheen as governor.

Duh... Can never go wrong with taxing the rich in this state! Envy of those with two nickels to rub together seems increasingly common. -- "People demand freedom of speech as a compensation for the freedom of thought which they seldom use." |
