1 edit | D-link DIR-628 keeps dropping internet connectionMy internet connection keeps dropping like every 20-30 mins, then back online within 30 seconds. then disconnect again after 20-30 mins and so on and on. It has never happened before until i received a malware a month ago. but i cleared that and i fully scanned my PC with Malware-byte and Avast 2 times, didnt find anything. since then, i keep getting disconnected as i said above. i check my router and i see tons of blocking. they are all from the same IP to the same IP. what does that mean? could that be the problem that causes my internet keeps getting disconnected? any idea? thanks.
by the way, the date on my rounter is wrong. i didnt set it correctly, but i dont think this is problem, right? thanks

| What Hardware and FW version is the router and loaded on the router?
What ISP service do you have? DSL or cable? What ISP modem do you have? Make and model? Built in router in the modem?
These are entries in the log and the router is going it's job by reporting what the firewall is blocking. These are inbound packets.
Some things to try:
Ensure DNS IP addresses are being filled in under Setup/Internet/Manual? You can find these under Status/Device Info/Wan section.
Turn off Advanced DNS Services if you have this option under Setup/Internet/Manual.
Turn on DNS Relay under Setup/Networking.
Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices on the router. Setup/Networking
Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.
Set Firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP.
Enable uPnP and Multi-cast Streaming under Advanced/Networking.
I would load up malware-bytes and scan for any other malicious items on the PCs.

i am using Comcast cable. i phoned comcast and phone representative said he ran a test and the line is fine. i know it's not because i keep getting disconnected. i thought it's my computer. but then it happens to my ipad. then i disconnected the router, just connect the cable modem directly to my computer. same problem. so i think it is the internet line problem. well, comcast will send a technician to come check the line, i will wait and see what happen after that. |

Have then check for T.V. line spliters, these can lower the signal going to the Cable modem as well. Try some of the suggestions too. |
