e-mail settings for private domain POP3/SMTP

I don't use Rogers but I'm trying to help a friend who does.
He's just setting up web hosting for a domain he has and wanted to get his copy of Outlook 2007 working for SSL e-mail in both directions to/from his server to his laptop.

Will he be able to send/receive on Rogers with the following e-mail settings for his domain, and NOT need to use Rogers mail servers?

+++++++++++++++++++
POP3 & SMTP servers = mail.domain.com
No Secured Password Authentication

Outgoing - Use SMTP authentication; Use same settings as incoming

Set POP3 port = 995, use SSL
Set SMTP port = 465, use SSL
+++++++++++++++++++

Or does Rogers need some other bastard settings?

Thanks.

Is the server hosted on his Rogers connection or externally?

If it's externally, that should work just fine. If it's hosted on his connection, it's a total no-go.

It's hosted at a hosting company.

Should work fine. Pretty sure those are about the same settings I use for Gmail.

As long as it's not using port 25 it'll work.

Same settings that I use for Gmail and I've never had an issue.
