 | Is it or isn't it? I have been getting lots of calls from ATT UVerse number, and I finally picked up and talked to the lady.
She said Uverse TV, Internet and Voice is available to me and ran off this great speil about one time offer, 6 months cheaper, etc.
I just talked to an ATT Tech about a problem I was having on my POTS service and he said that Uverse internet only was slowly rolling out in my area (979-849-xxxx) 77515, but not the rest.
I went to the ATT web site and checked my number, which told me at only Uverse Internet was available. I told her this and she checked and said the web site was wrong, now let's sign you up!
I have this horrible vision in my mind of signing up for something that is not yet available in my area, dropping my home phone (which number I've had for 30 years), my DSL (which would probably take 3 weeks and not qualify for elite any more), so I hung up on her.
What's the deal? Is it available or not? I'd like the higher speeds, but don't want the nightmare scenario.....
Any Tech's who can check and verify?????
Thanks! |

| I am not a technician, but from the horror stories about Uverse that I read, I would wait until Uverse is deployed for all three services for at least 2 years before looking into signing up. Deploying Uverse is like riding a unicycle, while balancing a stack of spinning plates in each hand. All the while a hurricane and earthquake are happening at your location simultaneously. Things are not going to go well or easily. Wait until the cabinet/node deployment in your area is finished and has been working for 2 to 3 years. |
