A place for one to keep there digital files for easy access when connected to the internet. At least that is how I understand it.

Well, I am pretty sure megaupload it's not going to pop back up any time soon.

Seems like the scare tactics worked pretty good, since I saw there are already filesharing sites that are closing down voluntarily or at least closing down the filesharing facility since this whole Megaupload filesharing mess began.

Oh well, guess it's time to move on, plenty of other filesharing or filelockers sites to chose from as replacements for this one.

Btw, I found a discussion on the internet on some new technology for audials.com that's supposed to be a good replacement for megaupload and other filesharing sites.

U guys got any idea what this audials filesharing technology is really supposed to be?

I didn't really dig up anything more on this rumor.

So no ideas at all what this filesharing audials technology is supposed to do?

I didn't manage to dig up anything either. Though it was pretty interesting to see if this audials thing would be an useful megaupload filesharing alternative or not but I can't find anything on it.

Guess it might be some useless rant....

Audials records music streams from the internet. Audials then recognizes and retags files with the original song names. Not much new there, except maybe the song identification.

Umm, that's all that audials thing does?

That's petty disappointing.

I was under the impression that audials sharing program or whatever it is would be more like one of them cloud services or filesharing sites like megaupload or something similar to this not just some program for recording music streaming off the web.

Guess I was wrong, thanks for the info anyways.

Heh, wonder how far did Dotcom run, now that he's out on bail?

I suppose it wouldn't be that hard for him to disappear if he wants to.

Hey romakowski, just read some info on that audials anywhere program if you're interested.

It's indeed related to that audials program you mentioned, but it's actually some new app from them. They call it personal media cloud, from what I've read.

It also lets you share files with friends though some sort of invitation system. Looks to me like opera's built in filesharing feature, that one also lets you send some invitation link to friends to share media with them and stuff like that but I hope it's way faster and easier to use...

Interestingly enough a New Zealand judge has ruled this past Friday that the initial seizure order of Megauploads assets was illegal. No word yet on when or if they will be getting their stuff back.

they still may not as they forked up the paperwork on the first filing then fixed it before they raided them. seems this will go on a long time guess that is what happens when you go after someone who can fight back.
