| [CATV] Tivo interface on set top boxes was announced 1 year ago. First off I am not talking about going to Best Buy and buying a TIVO and using it with Charter via a cable card. I know that is possible.
TIVO interfaces were announced January of 2011. Very little information has been available except for trial runs in Texas. Does anyone have any updates of the TIVO interfaces? I am not impressed with the current interfaces on the Cisco box compared to other DVR's.
When will it be available in Decatur, AL. |

When will it be available in Decatur, AL. I think the Tivo interface on existing cable boxes option was dropped and now it's going to an actual Tivo Premiere through Charter. Especially after looking at Charter's site: »charter.com/tivo
Other providers of Tivo interfaces have done the same, so I think Tivo was the one really pushing for the change. Less support resources needed on Tivo's end... -- If it's important, back it up... twice. Even 99.999% availability isn't enough sometimes. |

 | reply to HateTank Soft launches are starting in the Midwest very soon. I wouldn't be surprised to see a hard push come before the end of the year as long as things pan out as well as they are currently working. |

 | reply to HateTank Per Michael Lovett, Charter CEO, during an interview on Jan 4, 2012,
"So in 2011 we piloted the TiVo product in our Ft. Worth market. We went to full production launch in that market last month. We'll be rolling out the TiVo product across the entire enterprise in the first half of 2012. We view this in combination with the superior broadband as a way to take it to the competition and to start to win back share. I think that's what starts to change the competitive dynamic in video."

The TiVo discussion starts at 9:14m into the video. |

| reply to HateTank Last I heard, 2nd qtr 2012. And as with most new hardware rollouts, it will take forever as the supply will trickle in and won't meet the new install and customer upgrade demand.
So more likely, 2nd half of 2012 for all users. -- Google is your Friend |

 | Good to know. I use a Tivo HD still and enjoy it, but refuse to move to Premier because it is something insane like $20 a month now. I guess I will see how Charters offerings are and cost before I make any moves. Have they altered the hardware to allow VoD yet or not? |

| reply to HateTank The hardware isn't out yet.
In any case, it will almost certainly support ALL features/products of any other Charter DVR...which includes VOD.
Note: We are referring to the Charter DVR models. Not any upcoming Tivo branded models. -- Google is your Friend |
