[Network] Outage - Snyder, OK

I live here to lol.... I haven't had any luck with them fixing anything though

I'm from Sterling, Oklahoma, a little bit east of yall. From what the local techs have told me, our connections run from Purcell, down through sterling, then to snyder.

I have a 12mb connection here that runs anywhere from 1mb-6mb during peak times (weekends and evenings) at best and is very unstable during these times, but runs perfect during off peak hours. It has been this way since last summer. Alot of us here in town have the same issue, we all have perfect connections on our end, so it's not our lines. I was wondering if you guys have had the same issues, and the same lack of fixing thing as we do here?

Hey I was wondering the same myself I was beginning to think I was the only one this was happening to... YES!!! lol at least from my side, my Internet is 12mb to, but its horrendous during peak periods and several other times of the day,

I hadn't been around to see how the service acted, until the past 2 months. I've had outages, lag and really slow speeds.

I can tell when my neighbor comes home. It used to be two of us, the internet was fine. Now, I see 4 connections; and a PS3. I no longer get my 80% of the 12Mbps, for which I pay.

Glad to know my service goes away during an "upgrade", only to find more connections and have a slower speed.

I used to have Westok.net for several years. I could game, stream, you name it. I lost my connection about the same time Leon sold the company. I continually called and raised Hell, for weeks. Eventually, the new guy showed up and realized the tree on the next block had grown. Realigned my radio dish and it was all good.

Something tells me Westok is out of business. We have SWOI.net at 1.5 and Lakeview. I opted for supposed speed. I don't game anymore, but I stream and I'm an internet junkie. I might prefer consistency and response, over speed.

I also love the way the service has dropped and yet prices are increasing. I think I'll call billing and complain, today.

I called WIN billing, was told I was a liar about any December outage and I'm REALLY pissed!

I'm calling WIN, because yes, I do hold stock and that conversation was so ridiculous. I called tech support for 2 days. No record.

I called WIN tech support from my Verizon mobile on 12/19/11. Went through the typical reboot/reset with level one CSR to be told she would turn over to lvl2. I let 2 hours go by, call back to get a recorded message that my network is being "upgraded" and repairs should be complete at 8pm. Call back at 8pm, same message, repairs at 5 am. Call back at 5am on the 20th of December. Goes on until I get a call of restored network. No record of any calls!

I call billing regarding outage, including Nationwide DNS outage. Never happened. It was on the news and the whole web! Nope, we don't have any records. At that point, I yelled, threw a fit and used colorful expletives.

Then I remembered, I used my Verizon Wireless phone and have a record of EVERY call I make; including Windstream.

I got Marcus. He gave me 2 weeks credit and asked about tv. He was really good, so I asked about phone. WAIT! I was super pissed and now I'm installing phone?

Maybe I need to hold off. Funny how a CSR makes all the difference.

I was going to cut off everything and call the home office after talking to Yolanda. 15 minutes with Marcus and I'm spending money.

I live between two military bases. We had cool radio connections years ago. We should be bumping the military hard-line connections.

Even my pissy Verizon connection is better.

I'm going in on your connection? Not Wichita Falls, which is closer and serves another base? Two bases in SW Oklahoma and a base in Wichita Falls? We should have excellent access.

Has your service improved at all??
I am thinking of dropping because like you I am not getting any straight answers and it seems they are quick to point the blame somewhere else, apparently AT&T was supposed to put something in and they backed out so I don't know.. I have been getting crappy things like this all the time off and on.

now if its anywhere from like 8:00am to 2:00pm I am fine but I am not home always during those periods. Another one I got this weekend was this which was astronomical
