 | [BC] Business ADSL profiles How do business DSL lines work. I see online that it says UP to 15Mbps. I'm assuming that it is still ADSL2+ of course. Is it an adaptive profile or do they stick you on a fixed profile that is suitable for your line?
Thanks |

Thanks The higher profiles are coming really really really soon for Business. *wink* -- I may work for, but do not necessarily represent the views and beliefs of TELUS Communications. |

 | reply to fuzzmania I hope it means higher upstream, which is Telus Business biggest downfall. |

| reply to fuzzmania Anyone provide any info on the new plans and if they will have a descent upload sync? 1 Mb upload is impossible to run a business on. We unfortunately had to go the bonded T1's route X 6 lines to get some speed. Our exchange server can saturate the 6Mb upload during the day with ease. Download is fine for most part, unless someone decides to download a huge file. The speeds really are pathetic, especially for old technology and the high prices. |

It will be the same speed as the consumer plan. so 25/3 -- I may work for, but do not necessarily represent the views and beliefs of TELUS Communications. |

| Why Telus is going with 25/3 while Bell is offering 25/7 is what I'm wondering.
I know the two are not directly competing, but since VDSL technology used by Telus is capable, then why not? Why stay in the stone age when it comes to upload speeds? |

 | reply to CR123 Thank you. It seems to be a 4mbps down profile when the modem shows max 11, which isn't that much. Although it appears to still be an ADSL line and not ADSL2+ |

| reply to fuzzmania Ohhhhh I can't wait. The 25/2.5mbit profile just became available here mid last year and I've been waiting patiently for the bump on the server plans... Ive been tempted to call and have it set up on our second phone line, but the way it usually goes is Ill upgrade and within a month it's available on the other, so I end up having to cancel the residential plan.
I'm really craving the higher upload though.... And the 25mbit download will be nice.
Wish I knew how soon 'soon' will actually be... This waiting game sucks, they should just keep the business speeds matched with the residential for the most part, maybe a little extra upload. -- ~There is no Normal or Abnormal... Just Diversity. Member of Team Helix - Join Us? |

 | reply to fuzzmania 25/5 sure, but only where VDSL is available. As far as I have heard, Telus has been pushing VDSL for residential only, not even worrying about commercial areas. |

Symtex join:2005-04-06 Burnaby, BC kudos:12 | We have some challenges in commercial area. ALU doesn't make k-card for 7302 dslam. They will need to be replace by multiple 7330 or huawei dslam. It will not be cheap. -- I may work for, but do not necessarily represent the views and beliefs of TELUS Communications. |

| reply to Symtex Well regardless, it's nothing but the huge gouge we are getting right now for a couple bonded T1's. We are at the point we will pay to get out of our contract with Telus and switch to Shaw Business that has better speeds, way better price and even better uptime. With Telus, $1380/month for 6x6 T1's. With Shaw, 50x5 for $100/month and has a better uptime. Our T1's drop all the time and thankfully it hasn't been all of them at once. They've ran new lines, changed juniper box, ETC. Such a waste of money to go with Telus for Business purposes. We would rather spend 2k/month through Shaw to get fiber though than put our money into Telus again. When we first had service installed, the juniper was used (obviously) and it must of been used for a while, as it failed the first month of our service. You cannot run a business on Telus for internet, it's painful. |
