DV capture in Win7 x64?

I'm looking for a free piece of software that is able to capture video between two given points.
I've been using Ulead MSP but it's not working in Win7 and it's discontinued. The successor (Corel Video Studio 4) doesn't have the option anymore.
All freebies that I've seen only have a manual capture option or a timed capture, but not for example from 0:12:37.17 to 0:17:12.03, they also don't report dropped frames. Or they stop if they encounter a gap between two recordings.
Thoughts?

Don't know about free these days. Most free stuff is dumbed down for the 'average' user. You could do something like an Adobe Premiere 30-day trial if this is just a short-term thing you're trying to do.
