Canada | what channels are they getting? they might as well switch to the digital vip package, you get better value for your me tv package i had some old package and the digital vip costed roughly the same so i swtiched and got more channels, go figure.

First of all, there is no "old" metv pack. What you were privileged to receive for free was basic+ultimate, and you were paying for basic+metv.
It's a digital adaptor. They are free. You have to pay if you don't return it to us when you cancel that's the only charges for it ($5 for not returning remote, $5 for not returning the power adaptor, $40 for not returning the adaptor itself).
Rogers is starting the phase-out of analog cable because they want the bandwidth to provide better services such as faster internet (upload & download, as those who post here want), more hd channels, better picture quality for sd & hd channels.
As for the channel numbers you should be receiving below are said channel numbers for Toronto.
Basic is 2-28, 59-71
Basic + Combo 2-43, 59-71
Basic + MeTv 2-28, 44-71
Basic + Origonal (select) don't remember, but its a hybrid
Basic + Ultimate 2-71
