[HN7000S] Reconnect terms and fees?

Does anyone know Hughesnet reconnect terms and fees ? I'm thinking about changing to a local WISP but I'm not sure how good it'd be and I don't want to have to pay $500 to reconnect Hughesnet if I decided to come back.

when i cancelled a month ago, the customer rep told me that i could reactivate service within 45 days for $25. not sure what it would be after that

I'll be on a 1 year contract anyway.

The 512 kbps is what worries me, but they say their latency is around 100 ms so I could game better on it as well as keep my game downloads going rather than 1-6 AM only.

But yeah, I was wondering about reconnection fees if I decided they weren't going to cut it.

Put your HN account on vacation suspend until you make up your mind

I sure doubt they'd have a "1 year vacation" option ?

Vacation "suspend" will get you 6 months, plus 45(?) days where you can reconnect for $25 will get you 7.5 months.

When I switched to Cellcom (EVDO wireless router for $39/month), they gave me 30 days right to cancel. I pretty much knew Hughes was history in the first week even though my Axesstel 440 modem/router usually sits there indicating amber, which is not the strongest signal. Downloading files usually takes longer now than with Hughes but I don't need things D/L that fast anyway. I just come back a bit later if need be. My first clue that Hughes was history was days after bringing home the cell based Cellcom router was when I first realized I no longer needed to count bits or bytes every single day. Maybe this summer I will work up an external antenna system for the Cellcom modem for better signal. Even with the weaker signal, I've done speed tests (not always) that far exceeds the HN9000.

I cancelled Hughes days before their monthly billing resumed at the end of my 6 mo suspension and the whole HN9000 system came done about 45 days later. (I should sell this whole system if someone wanted to make an offer. 2years old and in great shape.)
