[CATV] Missing channels

For most (if not all) of the last few days, the History Channel HD has a message on the screen saying "Temporarily Off Air please check back later..." The Science Channel HD is just a black screen with no message. Does anyone know what is going on with this? Those are 2 of my favorite channels.

SOPA blackout.

The non HD versions of the channels work fine. I would think if it was a SOPA blackout, that they would all be offline.

I was being sarcastic... everyone was making such a big deal out of SOPA, I figured I'd be a smart alec about it.

I ended up calling today... they are supposed to send a tech out on Monday. After checking more thoroughly, there are several of the HD channels with the same message.

Provisioning or Head end issue. That's what mine always turned out to be usually head end. I've had almost two dozen out on several occasions. They always send a tech who gets on his radio and has them check the feed they call back and tell the tech one by one that the channel is out.

This was a common occurrence in my market the higher digital package channels several years back. Nothing funnier then hearing some guy on the radio call back saying "that ones (the channel) been out almost a week (for the whole area).
--
"Sir SIR! We don't use DHCP servers. We only use IBM & Microsoft servers." From there my call to tech support went steadily downhill.

Temporarily Off air is a message you get when a switch digital channel isnt working. This can be problems in your home all the way back to the headend. A tech should be able to help you out
