[General] PhonePower down?

As of this morning I'm getting "Device not registered" and can't get to the PhonePower website. Anybody else having issues?

joe

@verizon.net

Yes, I am having the same issue! Are they bankrupt?

edward333

@comcast.net

In PA, having same issue. Their site is down and I've tried multiple customer service numbers; no ring, nothing. I wish I could simply forward the line but I can't even get on the site to do so. Is there an email address for them? Can't seem to find it.

Same boat here in PA. Brings back memories of my SunRocket experience.

Why does everyone assume voip go out of business when the phone and website go down. Same with p8 yesterday.

Problem is they put all eggs in one basket when phone go so does all website and status. Most have resorted to using twitter as backup status but are very slow to update it.

Everybody didn't assume they were out of business, but as you point out @PhonePower and @PPowerNetStatus are quiet

Currently am having the same problems. Whois info:
Registrant: Phone Power LLC
Registered through: Go Daddy
Domain Name: PHONEPOWER.COM
Domain servers in listed order:
NS43.DOMAINCONTROL.COM
NS44.DOMAINCONTROL.COM

Unscheduled outage. Hopefully won't be too long.
No joy on calling through my cel phone. Line forwarding isn't working either.

Hopefully just a temporary snafu.

Keep in mind it is still early Saturday morning where they are based in California.

Although one would hope to see an update on their Twitter.
»twitter.com/phonepower

Their subsidiary »www.voip.com/ is also dark, but I assume that's on the same server.

------------------------------

Dear VoIP providers, please plan for a little more redundancy! The darkness yesterday at Packet8 (8x8) was inexcusable. Packet8 is a big company, serving lots of businesses!!

Yeah, I think that's was most disconcerting to me. Apparently the failsafe option only works when there are internet problems on my end, although to be fair that's how it's described.

Look like hosting servers are having issues. Would be nice if they used some of their other ways (facebook/twitter) to update their status. I'll give them 12 hours. Then look at another service. »www.voipo.com/voipreview.php is a company I've been looking at.

I see the website is back, still don't have phone but that could take a while to get registered with all the ATAs trying to get connected at once.

Just called my PP number and got VM. Does anyone know how to pickup VM from a phone other than the PP one?
Thanks

@comcast.net

I forwarded the line to my cell and is working fine but the phone connected to my router still is not working.

Re: [General] PhonePower down?

Dial your Phone Power phone number and wait for the VoiceMail to answer the call.

Once the VoiceMail system answers the call, dial the Star * key.

You will prompted for your PIN.

Takes time for the hamster to eat.

--------------------------

The strange thing is why their fax number wouldn't pick up.

They use a totally outside company for their fax service.

EDIT: Ah, apparently they don't anymore.

Reboot the ATA, that might help. You should be able to call out but not to receive calls since your phone number is forwarded.
