So much for...

...the second "major" snow event of the season! What was forecast as "appreciable" snowfall overnight seems to amount to about 3"... on top of the two inches we got a day or two ago. I don't know if we're extremely lucky, or the forecasters don't have a clue, but we've gotten very little snow so far this year. Hardly worth firing up the Cub Cadet snowblower to clear the drive. And the forecast is for temps back in the 40's over the next several days, to boot! I guess the time I spent getting the blower mounted this year scared the snow gods into withholding their bounty. I'm certainly not complaining. I am just kinda holding my breath... February and March could kick ass, but, so far, December and January have been nothing remarkable.

I'm located on what could be considered the southern "edge" of the Lake Erie "snowbelt". Just a few miles north of us they've gotten clobbered a couple of times already this year, but we've received, what I would consider, very little snow this season.

We've had a total of 3" of snow and rain due on Monday. City plows did their usual 'no show' in my area until somebody caused an accident and hitting a powerpole...THEN they came with the plows...leaving huge ruts at intersections...fishtailing galore when doing corners. I didn't leave the house for 2 days because of the street conditions, even with my son snowplowing the driveway. I have a little car ('99 Hyundai Accent) and I could see parts of the street still with snow as high as the tops of my tires...would have had to do the 'zigzag' down the street...not even going to take a chance.
The storms of last year were bad and my area of the city was always the last to be plowed and when they did plow...such a bad job...nothing like being stuck in the house for days because of the crappy plowing...thank goodness for my son and his snowplow coming to my rescue...and he came from nearby Amherst ! /end of rant/

Not much snow but we got hit with freezing rain and sleet. Looks to have coated things well. Mad River Mountain got 6 inches of snow - we are going there tomorrow for our cub scout pack. We are about an hour south and west of MRM.

Supposed be 48 degrees tomorrow at MRM and at the house.

EDIT: Just saw the forecast for Sunday night into Monday - possible thunderstorms...

Lets see- 33-34 degrees yesterday - nice a foggy at Mad River Mountain. Left there and it got VERY foggy by 5 PM - then at about 6 PM it started to rain. Rained all night - 47-50 degrees this morning - our power went out (high wind advisory all night) at 2:29 AM. Did not come back till about 7:50 am...

Supposed to hit about 50 then fall again when a cold front moves thru...

EDIT - at lunch it was 54 degrees according to my car and now - pouring down rain...
