[FireFox] Firefox 9.0.1 lock ups and memory problems?

Running FF 9.0.1 on 2 machines an XP and Win 7. Both have had problems with lockup.

Now, I'm looking at the memory usage on one particular site. »jeelabs.org/tag/jeenode/

I have IE 9 and FF 9.0.1 connected to the same site. Below is what task manager is showing for each. You can see how much higher memory utilization is for FF. This happens in XP and Win 7

Any thoughts on this??

It's the web site. I can't even get Firebug to start up and, in Chrome, I can't get the inspector to show up. Don't know what they're doing but it's got to be something stupid on their part.

EDIT: Apparently it's an extremely long front page with loads of graphics. This is an amateur's mistake and it's taking forever to load.

My firefox did the same thing on all sites with flash. I eventually uninstalled adobe flash, a crap load of unused extensions and reinstalled firefox and adobe and it has been fine since.

Thanks for the info. You're right howardfine See Profile that's what they are doing. I thought the memory thing was the culprit but does not appear that way.

I have heard of the Flash problems djdanska See Profile so maybe I'll give your method a try and see what happens.

Thanks again

That won't help because 1) that's not the problem (I already described the problem) and 2) there is no Flash on that site.

How much RAM do you have in your build, and what CPU do you have?
This site is heavily loaded with the java script and HTML. It could cause stack overflow.

The problem is the site as I already described. It's not Firefox or his computer.

I have memory usage easily go up to over 1 GB even 2 GB sometimes. It goes right back down for me though once I am not on the tab or tabs.

No problems here. Normally Firefox only uses around 250 MB for me.

Yep. That took 2 minutes, 12.56 seconds to load in Fx4.01. TREMENDOUS amount of graphics to load. I only have 2GB RAM. Look at my Fx usage. It is good thing I don't have a virtual machine running (or anything besides Fx except Outlook Express) or I'd run out of RAM
