 | [IA] Mediacom speeds and reliability in Ankeny? I'm thinking of switching over to Mediacom from CenturyLink. We just bumped up to the 12Mbps here in SE Ankeny but it's $70 with CenturyLink. Speed is great, but the price is steep, especially when you can get the same speed from Mediacom for $20 for the first 12 Mo, or even 20Mbps for $30.
My question...what kind of down-time and speeds do people see in Ankeny? Specifically SE side of town if possible. I know it won't necessarily correlate to my neighborhood, but I'm curious nonetheless. MediacomChad shot me some good info as well. |

 | Make sure you know what the price will be after the discounts end and how long of a lock-in your are agreeing to in order to get 6 months of savings.
If you only have internet with Mediacom, you are charged an extra $15 "internet only" fee. At least look at the other deals they can offer because getting rid of the fee can make up a part of the price of phone or TV. Remember, you can buy your own cable modem and save an extra $5/month.
I think they still have a 30-day escape period, so if you sign up and don't like it, you can cancel without penalty. Verify that with MediacomChad and any sales rep you talk to. |

| reply to superfula I can say, that I live on the SE side of Ankeny (straight south of DMACC) and speeds and reliability is very good. Down-time is very little relativity. I've had maybe 1 or 2 outages this month and both were in the maintenance window (midnight - 5am). I honestly have no complaints.
Been a customer at this location for 2 yrs and everything has been taken care of really well. |
