vd853 join:2004-12-29 Brooklyn, NY | [Help] Something to index files on my computer I need a software that index all the files on my computer. I have a computer that only has one purpose, to hold files. I don't want to turn it on just to check if it has a file that I need, so having a list would be nice. Any suggestions would be helpful, thanks. |

One I use, but is not listed in that category there is DirLister. I use it mainly when archiving music to DVDRs. I will then save a listing of each DVD as an HTML file so I can go back and see if I already have something I am about to download. -- I, for one, welcome our new Computer Overlords. |

Hey Doctor Four if you are cataloging DVDr's with music on them then I think you would find the program - MPEG Audio Collection worth looking at. It's specifically for cataloging the contents of CD's/DVD's and is searchable... It hasn't been updated since 2003, and isn't the prettiest interface, but it works well.
