[Line Problem] Ongoing sporadic latency issues - FastAccess

I have been having ongoing sporadic problems with my FastAccess line for the past few months. AT&T has replaced the modem, to no effect. Of course, when the tech was here the problem wasn't happening.

Normally I get 5.4 down, 0.4 up according to AT&T speed test. That's slower than it used to be, but still workable. Sometimes, especially after I've been playing League of Legends for a few games or watching Netflix, the performance will suddenly degrade. My in-game ping will spike from 80ms to 750ms or higher, pings to Google will spike from 40ms to 600ms, etc. The latency is always on the first hop past the modem.

When this is happening, speed test will still show ~5 down, but only 0.2 up.

I used to be able to bounce the connection and it would immediately get better, but with the new modem I'm forced into bridge mode so I can't easily do that (it's in an awkward place to physically reboot).

I've replaced my wireless router (even though the problem is the same going direct from laptop to the modem), AT&T has replaced the modem.

Does anyone have suggestions?

Thanks.
