 | WOW Digital Adapter vs QAM Is there a list of what's available on unencrypted QAM vs the digital tuning adapter?
I set up the GF's parents with a new HDTV today and scanned through and didn't find anything on QAM, since it was hooked up to a tuning adapter. Istarted to figure out ways to get the HD QAM stations to passthrough, but just realized that there probably isn't much that's on the adapter that isn't on already available on QAM. If there's a list of what's where, or better yet a grid of what channel maps where on what service, that would be great! |

Connect the cable directly to the tv, scan the channels and the tv will pick up all of the clear QAM channels on it's own. WOW's DTA channel line-up is the same as the clear QAM line-up
One word of caution though. Some QAM tuners are better than others. A friend of mine bought a cheap 22" lcd and it doesn't pick-up all of the channels (he has WOW). But since they already have a DTA, there's no harm in trying the tv without it. If it works, have them return the DTA or use it for another tv. |
