Glendale, AZ Poor Availability.

I've called Small Business support and they can't tell me when faster speeds will be available. They can't do anything for me other than letting me know I have 30 days to cancel before the contract kicks in. If I had an alternative I could care less but Century Link is my only option.

I'm not in the sticks...I'm by the 67th Ave and Orangewood. Well within 'city limits'...

Century Link is the only service available in my area. I'm paying $55/mo for 1.5/864 at my office...this connection is unusable for what I do. I can not be productive. I feel like I'm getting robbed paying that much...

Are you getting the speeds you pay for? The price you're paying is fairly typical for a business-class package.

There is not a cable connection or a Wireless provider in your area?

Send an email to talktous@centurylink.com with your address and account info. They should be able to tell you more.

Yeah, I'm getting the speeds I'm paying for...and I would gladly pay $30/mo more for the 7mbps package if it were available as that is a little more tolerable...

How do businesses function w/ 1.5mbps?? This split among 5 people is crawl fest...

I prefer Cox but they are not available in this area. I called and they can put in a line but that's $12k and the ROI is poor, so they say.

It depends on what kind of business you are in. Many get by on a T1, which is about the same speed (1.5/1.5) for quite a bit more.

Check and see if there are any WISP's that serve your area. They should be able to provide higher speeds over a wireless connection.

If you know someone within a mile of your location that gets higher speeds, you could do your own wireless link for a few hundred $.

I'm in the city limits too and I never could get ANYKIND of internet service except dialup until C/L put in a new fiber network down my street. Now I can get 20mb DSL for $60/mo. There have been lots of other crooks who charged more but could never provide service that worked. If you wait long enough they might upgrade your area too but it's expensive so no telling how long it might take.

Spent a good hour on the phone with Cox when I was shopping for service, rep was pretty clear there was no service available. They even had notes for this address from a previous tenant stating the same as well.

If your rep is magical and can make something happen, that would be pretty awesome!

The first time we tried it was a no go, then Jeff was able to hook us up, great guy. Info sent. Worst case, throw a cable across the street to us

Anyways, I'll give him a shout and see what he can do. Thanks man!

Talked to Cox for a couple days...nothing they can do.

Talked to a good friend of mine who works at Cox, nothing they can do.

So...I can only hope that CenturyLink does something to improve the speeds because these T1 speeds just do not cut it in 2012...drives me crazy as it is TOTALLY USELESS TO ME.

I've called and no one at CenturyLink can help or do anything...if they would lower my monthly rate to a reasonable price for the quality of service I'm getting I wouldn't be as upset...but paying $55/mo for a useless service grinds my gears...

Glad my first bill from them was $300, it's like twisting the knife...

Very unhappy customer right now...

If I was located 250ft south I could get 3Mbps for $90/mo which is what other CenturyLink subscribers pay for 7Mbps.

What a horrible company. With outrageous prices, lacking coverage and and piss-poor speeds. It is very unfortunate that there are no other alternatives.

They should change their slogan to, "Less for more!".
