Re: [NFL] Super Bowl XLVI Discussion Congratulations Giants fans. The better team won.
It wasn't the best performance by either team, but it was close from start to finish and that definitely kept me watching. -- hey Dale |

Good game.
If any one is going to the parade: quote: New York City will throw a parade Tuesday morning for the New York Giants to celebrate their Super Bowl title. The victory parade will travel through the financial district's Canyon of Heroes. The ticker-tape parade will begin on Broadway at Battery Place at 11 a.m. and continue uptown along the Canyon of Heroes to Chambers Street. Then, a ceremony will be held at City Hall Plaza, where Mayor Michael Bloomberg is expected to present the G-Men with the Keys to the City.

You know how last time I said that I didn't hate the Giants because the Pats didn't show up to play? Well, the Giants have done it to us again, and that means I officially hate the Giants, everyone on the team and the owners and front office. I'm not really crazy about Giants fans ATM, either. ;-P -- You Can't Kill Rock 'n' Roll! |

capdjqButt outPremium join:2000-11-01 WetCoaster | The football game was close but flat. If you're a Giants fan, everything is great. For me, starting the game off with a safety was a bad omen. This wasn't so much a Super Bowl as it was a forgettable Thursday night game on the NFL Network.
It was a lackluster football game, devoid of any memorable plays, that ended up being mildly exciting only because the score was close and there was a Hail Mary pass at the end of it.
Madonna and friends performed at half time. Memorable? She looks great for her age. But so would you, if you didn't have a job and could work out all the time and keep things tight. -- You have the right to believe what you want; I have the right to believe its ridiculous.

| reply to Moorecards Nice job Giants! Not a Giants fan normally but against the Pats I was. It was a good close game that came down to the wire.
Halftime show was good for once. One the kids could actually see.
Also the national anthem at the begining was good for me. It wasn't drawn out like so many of the other people do.
Final thoughts was that I like the M&M commercial and the Dorito's dog commercial with the missing cats. -- Cry "Havoc!" and let slip the dogs of war |

Now, Eli and the Giants and their fans can deal with being labeled as a dynasty and see for themselves how heavy that crown is. It weighs tons, BTW. Good luck. -- You Can't Kill Rock 'n' Roll! |

| reply to Moorecards Giants WIN!!!
In hindsight, the play that did it for me was Manningham's huge catch down the sideline. Not only was it good for 38 yards, but the "is it a catch?" scenario caused the Pats to burn a timeout when they lost the challenge! Sweet!
The fact that Bradshaw couldn't stop before getting into the endzone gave Brady time and made the game come down to the very last play. I like a close game, but that was too close.
I'm glad Gronk slowed up at the end there, or he could have caught that Hail Mary before it hit the ground. And I'm glad the Pats receivers dropped so many passes when it counted!
The Pats played a good game though, I have to give it to them, they made it a nail-biter. And the way they were getting to Eli early was a bad sign.
What really matters, though, is...

jabarnutLight Years AwayPremium,MVM join:2005-01-22 Galaxy M31 kudos:2 | reply to Moorecards Well, it's Monday morning. What a night! That wasn't one of the most exciting Super Bowls I've ever seen...that is, until the very end. The last drive by Eli made it all worth it. Incredible! The Pats have to be reeling. I fell asleep last night thinking it was reminiscent of the last time the Giants beat them in the SB. The last drive by Manning when he really needed it. And yes, the phenomenal catch by Manningham on the sidelines when it really counted was a VERY close second to the helmet catch by Tyree.
Belichick must have had nightmares all night. Oh wait...he couldn't have had nightmares because he never slept. He spent the entire night crying in the locker room wishing it was all just a bad dream. Yep, that's right Billy boy. Not only did you get beat again, but it was Eli and the boys who did it again. Déjà vu, eh? -- I had a life once.....now I have a Computer and a Modem. |
